Summary:

Successful candidates will be responsible for leading a two person team, consisting of a Lead BPI Certified Building Analyst and a Weatherization Technician.

The Lead Analyst will be responsible for empowering the team to educate home owners in energy efficiency practices both basic weatherization improvements as well as deeper energy saving measures. The team will promote and encourage the adoption of sound energy efficiency recommendations, install Instant Savings Measures at the time of the assessment and provide the opportunity for home owners to learn more about deeper energy efficiency offerings all in accordance with the standards of EnergizeCT’s Home Energy Solutions program and company practices.

Prior experience in the Home Energy Solutions program is a plus.

BPI Building Analyst
BPI Envelope
Lead RRP and Department of Energy – Home Energy Score certified a plus

Responsibilities:

1.) Collect accurate data for utility program including but not limited to; Blower door test, True Flow test, and Duct Blaster test along with proficiency in conducting the above tests.

2.) Collect accurate data for combustion appliance testing (along with ability to conduct the tests).

3.) Perform a whole house energy assessment to evaluate the energy efficiency needs of the homeowner. Ability to communicate to the homeowner all aspects of the assessment.

4.) Besides the testing the technician will be responsible, along with the assistant technician with air and duct sealing the home, installing CFL and LED lighting and water measures such as low flow aerators, showerheads and hot water pipe insulation.

5.) Education is a major component of the job – the lead technician is responsible for accessing the energy needs of the customer and encouraging the customer to do additional measures that are recommended such as insulation, HVAC and Solar.

6.) Flexible work schedule. Not required but desired if candidate will be able to work on Saturdays.

7.) Ability to delegate and manage assistant technician.

Qualifications:

1.)Trusted “people person” and great communicator. Educator and source of information and expertise on energy efficiency measures.

2.) Working knowledge of Excel and ability and to work with and understand numbers including cost/benefit analysis and matching savings to loan payment (finance background a plus but not required.) Familiarity with energy efficiency software (TREAT, REM-RATE) a plus.

3.) BPI (Building Performance Institute) Certification; Building Analyst and Building Envelope, basic knowledge of construction, homes, building a must. HERS rater and other BPI Certifications a Plus!

4.) Knowledge of building science, energy efficiency products and associated industries (HVAC, INSULATION, SOLAR (PV & THERMAL) preferred.

5.) Strong desire to help homeowners make their homes more energy efficient by recommending the most cost effective, quality measures.

Compensation commensurate with experience.

Must have a vehicle and a valid drivers license.
